English version

Ye sons of France, awake to glory,
Hark, hark! what myriads bid you rise!
Your children, wives and white-haired grandsires.
Behold their tears and hear their cries! (repeat)
Shall hateful tyrants, mischiefs breeding,
With hireling hosts, a ruffian band,
Affright and desolate the land,
While peace and liberty lie bleeding?

To arms, to arms, ye brave!
The avenging sword unsheath,
March on, march on!
All hearts resolv'd
On victory or death!

Now, now, the dangerous storm is rolling
Which treacherous kings confederate raise!
The dogs of war, let loose, are howling,
And lo! our fields and cities blaze! (repeat)
alt: And lo! our homes will soon invade!
And shall we basely view the ruin
While lawless force with guilty stride
Spreads desolation far and wide
With crimes and blood his hands embruing?

To arms, to arms, ye brave!...

With luxury and pride surrounded
The vile insatiate despots dare,
Their thirst of power and gold unbounded,
To mete and vend the light and air! (repeat)
Like beasts of burden would they load us,
Like gods would bid their slaves adore,
But man is man, and who is more?
Then shall they longer lash and goad us?

To arms, to arms, ye brave!...

O Liberty, can man resign thee
Once having felt thy generous flame?
Can dungeons, bolts or bars confine thee
Or whips thy noble spirit tame? (repeat)
Too long the world has wept, bewailing
That falsehood's dagger tyrants wield,
But freedom is our sword and shield,
And all their arts are unavailing.

To arms, to arms, ye brave!...

Down in the Valley

Just found this tab and I had to keep it. I didn't know this song, but sounds great in key G.

3 4 -4 5 4 5 5 -4 4 -4
Down in the valley, the valley so low

3 -3 -4 -5-4 -5 5 -4 4
Hang your head over, hear the wind blow

Hear the wind blow, dear, hear the wind blow

Hang your head over, hear the wind blow

Writing this letter, with but three lines
Answer my question, will you be mine?
Will you be mine, dear, will you be mine?
Answer my question, will you be mine?

Write me a letter, send it by mail
Send it in care of the Birmingham jail,
Birmingham jail, dear, Birmingham jail
Send it in care of the Birmingham jail

Roses love sunshine, violets love dew
Angels in Heaven know I love you
Know I love you, dear, know I love you
Angels in Heaven Know I love you

Dueling Banjos (tab)

Last month I put a nice play of this song. Here it is the tab I found and I paste it as I found it.

Have fun!

This song (originally called "Feuding Banjos")
was made popular by the movie Deliverance.
It consists of two banjos (one playing high and one
playing low). Basically, the low banjo plays the
notes first, and the high banjo repeats the same
notes an octave higher. This would be fun
for two harmonica players to try. Listen to the
midi if you're not familiar with it.
LB = low banjo (a guitar was used in the movie)
HB = high banjo

LB: -2 -2 -2 -3'' -3 +4 -4 +4 -3
HB: +6 +6 +6 -6 -7 +7 -8 +7 -7

LB: -2 -2 -2 -3'' -3 +4 -4 +4 -3
HB: +6 +6 +6 -6 -7 +7 -8 +7 -7

LB: -3 -3 -3 +4 -3

[this is the popular part everybody
associates with the movie]:

_______________________________________________
[the next part is some incredibly quick
playing; personally, I'd stop playing here,
but I tried to tab the rest of the song; I
believe a fair amount of this is actually
played by just the HB while the LB actually
plays either chords or repeats the first 2 lines
below; I tried to tab it by high and low lines]:

No woman, no cry

Another Bob Marley song...

+7 -7 +7 -7 -6 +8 -9 +8 -8 +7
No, woman, no cry; No, woman, no cry;

+7 -7 -8 +7 -6 +8 -9 +8 -8 +7
No, woman, no cry; No, woman, no cry.

+7 +7 +8 +8 +9 +9 +8 +8 +8 +8 +7 -6
Said - said - said: I remember when we used to sit

+8 +8 +8 +8 -8 +8 -7 -8 +7
In the government yard in trenchtown,

+8+8 +8 +8 +9 +8 -9 +9 +8 +7
O-ba - ob-a-serv-ing the hy-po-crites

+6 +7 -8 +8 +8 +8 +8 +8 -9 +8 -8 +7
As they would mingle with the good people we meet.

+8 +9 +9 +9 +8 +7 +9 +9 +8 +7 -6
Good friends we ha--d, oh, good friends weve los-t

+8 -8 +7 +8
Along the wa----y.

+8 +9 +9 +9 +8 -9 +9 +8 +9 +8 +7
In this great future, you cant forget your past;

+8 -8 +8 -9 +8 -7 +7
So dry your tears, I say.

+7 -7 +7 -7 -6 +8 -9 +8 -9 +7
No, woman, no cry; No, woman, no cry.

+8 +8 +8 -8 -7 +7 +7 +7 -6
ere, little darlin, dont shed no tears:

+8 -9 +8 -9 +7
No, woman, no cry.

+7 +7 +8 +8 +9 +9 +8 +8 +8 +8 +7 +7 -6
Said - said - said: I remember when-a we used to sit

+8 +8 +8 +8 -8 +8 -7 -8 +7
In the government yard in trenchtown.

+8 +8 +8 +9 +8 +9 +8 +9 +8 +7
And then georgie would make the fi-re light,

+6 +7 -8 +8 +8 -9 -9 -9 +8 -8 +7
As it was logwood burnin through the night

+8 +8 +9 +9 +8 -10 +9 +8
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,

+7 +8 +7 -8 +7 +8 +7
Of which Ill share with you; Ooh!!

+8 +9 +8 -9 +8+8 +9 -9
My feet is my only carriage,

+8 -8 +8 +9 +8 +8 +7
So Ive got to push on through.

+6 +7 -8 +8 +7 -8
But while Im gone, I mean:

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 -3
Everythings gonna be all right!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 -3
Everythings gonna be all right!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 -3
Everythings gonna be all right!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 -3
Everythings gonna be all right!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 +7 +7
everythings gonna be all right-a!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 -3
Everythings gonna be all right!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 +7 +7
Everythings gonna be all right, now!

+7 +7 +7 -6 +6 +7 +7 -3
Everythings gonna be all right!

+8 -9 +8 -8 +7
So, woman, no cry;

-9 -10 +9 +8 +8 -9 +8 +8 +7
No - no, woman no woman, no cry.

+8 +8 +8 +8 -7 -7 +7 -6 +7 +7
Woman, little sister, dont shed no tears;

+8 -9 +8 -8 +7
No, woman, no cry.

(LEAD BREAK)

+8 +9 +9 +8 +8 +8 +8 +7 +7 -6
I remember when-a we used to sit

+8 +8 +8 +8 -8 +8 -7 -8 +7
In the government yard in trenchtown.

+8 +8 +8 +9 +8 +9 +8 +9 +8 +7
And then georgie would make the fi-re light,

+6 +7 -8 +8 +8 -9 -9 -9 +8 -8 +7
As it was logwood burnin through the night

+8 +8 +9 +9 +8 -10 +9 +8
Then we would cook cornmeal porridge,

+7 +8 +7 -8 +7 +8 +7
Of which Ill share with you; Ooh!!

+8 +9 +8 -9 +8+8 +9 -9
My feet is my only carriage,

+8 -8 +8 +9 +8 +8 +7
So Ive got to push on through.

+6 +7 -8 +8
But while Im gone,

+7 -7 +7 -7 -6 +8 -9 +8 -9 +7
No, woman, no cry; No, woman, no cry.

-7 -8 -9 -9 +8 -8 +7 -6 +7 +7
Woman, little darlin,dont shed no tears;

+8 -9 +8 -8 +7
No, woman, no cry.

+8 +8 +8 -8 -7 +7 +7 +7 -6
Eh! little darlin, dont shed no tears!

+8 -9 +8 -8 +7
No, woman, no cry.

+8 +8 -7 -7 +7 -6 +7 +7
Little sister, dont shed no tears!

+8 -9 +8 -8 +7
No, woman, no cry

Hora dels adeus (Auld Lang Syne)

Another of my tabs! "L'hora dels adéus" is a beautiful song to say good bye. I made the tab from the Catalan version but the song is originally Scottish with the title "Auld Lang Syne".

4 -5 5 -5 -6 6
És l'hora dels adéus

-5 6 -6 6 -5

I ens hem de dir:

-5 -6 7 -8__-8

Adéu-siau!

-8 7 -6 -6 -5 6

Germans, dem-nos les mans,

-5 6 -6 6 -5 , -4 -4 4 -5__-5'
Senyal d'amor, senyal de pau.

---

4 -5 5 -5 -6 6
El nostre comiat diu:

-6 6 -5

A reveure,

-5 -6 7 -8__-8
si a Déu plau!

-8 7 -6 -6 -5 6

I ens estrenyem ben fort,

-6 6 -5

Mentre diem:

-4 -4 4 -5__-5'
Adéu-siau.

No és un adéu per sempre

-6 6 -5 , -4 -4 4 -5__-5'
És sols l'adéu per un instant,

El cercle refarem

I fins potser serà més gran.

La llei que ens agermana,

-6 6 -5 -4 -4 4 -5

Ens fa més forts i ens fa més grans.

Si ens fa més bons minyons,

També ens fa ser mes bons cristians

Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne?
Refrain
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne
We twa hae run about the braes
And pou'd the gowans fine meaning: pulled daisies
But we've wander'd mony a weary fitt : foot
Sin' auld lang syne. : long ago
We twa hae paidl'd in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine meaning: dinner time
But seas between us braid hae roar'd : broad
Sin' auld lang syne.
And there's a hand, my trusty feire
And gie's a hand o' thine
And we'll tak a right gude-willie waught
For auld lang syne.
And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp
And surely I'll be mine
And we'll tak a cup o'kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
